Late Saturday night, members of upcoming Kenyan music group Ethic were subjected to a terrible ordeal at the Koroga Festival in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.

According to a long Twitter thread published via the group’s official account, they plan to seek legal redress over an alleged incident of violence which took place at the event.

It is reported that guards from Kenyan security company “K9” brutally descended upon some of the group’s members, their hypeman, DJ and driver, leaving them with nasty injuries.

It’s with deep regret that we have to post this. Koroga festival called us and told us to perform as the headliners for the Koroga festival Saturday edition. We’d done one event with them previously and since we had no issues the last time and also because it is a huge platform, — ETHIC (@ethicofficial) July 6, 2019

we obviously jumped at the opportunity to perform again. This time, However, the treatment we got from them was more than hostile. As we speak four of our members including our Dj, hypeman , Zilla and our driver are all in hospital, brutally injured by Guards from the K.K — ETHIC (@ethicofficial) July 6, 2019YOU MAY LIKE

Kenyan artists will one day be treated the same as artists from other countries. The Saturday event this time surpassed all expectations and is definitely going to surpass their Sunday one. You know why? Because we Kenyan artists have worked our asses off to finally get Kenyans — ETHIC (@ethicofficial) July 6, 2019

to support their own. And this is an agenda we’re willing to push to the very end. To all our loyal fans we’re simply asking that you support our cause. #Justiceforethic#RespectKenyanartists hey — ETHIC (@ethicofficial) July 6, 2019

Koroga Festival organizers are yet to issue an official communication on the matter that will perhaps shed some light on finer details of the exact happenings during that night.

This comes just two days after the Kenyan hitmakers soared to new musical heights with a new international collabo with dancehall powerhouse Konshens.
