Speaking during the release of the 2018 KCSE exam release at the council headquarters, Prof. Magoha said he could very well have been delivering his last speech as the KNEC boss at the function.
He further hit out at parents whose children were caught up in examination malpractices saying they were the guilty party.
The former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor also urged parents to avoid buying fake examination papers.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chairman Prof. George Magoha on Friday hinted towards his term at the helm of the exam body coming to an end in March next year.

Speaking during the release of the 2018 KCSE exam release at the council headquarters, Prof. Magoha said he could very well have been delivering his last speech as the KNEC boss at the function.

“I keep saying that no condition is permanent… and three years is a cycle… so if God planned that this will be my last speech, so be it. It is good… and it is well,” said Prof. Magoha.

The no-nonsense KNEC boss added that, should his term come to an end next year, then his only regrets would be failure to have the body offices secured in one place (South C) and not having a “smart warehouse” which houses the command and control centre linked to the containers where the examinations are stored.

He further hit out at parents whose children were caught up in examination malpractices saying they were the guilty party.

“The child is in the classroom… the child would not have gone out to to go and do the things that we have found they have done. It is us parents and some unscrupulous teachers,” said Prof. Magoha.
